A small square therapeutic cushion, simple and practical, to use warm or cold. Its small size suits babies as well as older children. According to Amma Thérapie, heat relieves colic and stomach aches, eases muscle contractions, helps with breastfeeding and promotes relaxation; cold helps reduce inflammation and pain, and relieves migraines.
It is filled with organic pearl barley and dressed in a washable hemp and organic cotton cover. Amma Thérapie makes it in Quebec; the company is based in Château-Richer.
Format: 5 x 5 x 1/2 in., 200 g. Available in sand, grey or blue.
Materials: 100% cotton inner cushion filled with organic pearl barley; removable hemp and organic cotton cover (55% hemp and 45% organic cotton for the sand version).
How to use: for warmth, heat the cushion in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds at full power, or for 10 minutes in a conventional oven at 175 °F (about 80 °C); if it is still warm, shorten the time. For cold, keep it in the freezer in an airtight plastic bag; it can then be heated straight from the freezer, allowing a little more time. To wash the cover, remove it, wash it in cold water and dry it flat. The inner cushion is not washable in water: wipe it gently with a damp cloth.
Storage: away from heat and light.
Precautions: for external use only. Avoid the eye area and stop using if irritation occurs. Always check the temperature on your wrist before use, especially for a child, to avoid burns. Do not use a gas oven. Never leave a child under 3 unsupervised with the cushion. Keep out of the reach of children.
