A block of duck foie gras and a small raspberry and port jelly, packed together in a gift box. On a slice of toast, the fruity jelly adds a touch of sweetness to the foie gras.
Les Canardises is the family farm and cannery that Yolande and Pascal Klein founded in 2003 in Saint-Ferréol-les-Neiges, now helped by their children Camille and Pierre. The ducks are raised outdoors without growth hormones or antibiotics, then processed on site using methods inspired by French tradition. The block is made of 100% plain foie gras and seasoning, prepared using artisanal methods.
What's inside:
- one 140 g block of duck foie gras;
- one 41 ml raspberry and port jelly.
Ingredients, foie gras block: foie gras from duck raised outdoors, water, salt and pepper, spices.
Ingredients, raspberry and port jelly: raspberry and redcurrant juice, sugar, port, lemon juice, water, pectin.
Serving suggestion: refrigerate the block for 3 hours before serving, then let it rest at room temperature for 15 to 20 minutes before opening the can so it slides out easily. Remove both lids and gently push toward the wider end. Serve the foie gras on spice bread or a slice of toast, with a pinch of fleur de sel and the jelly.
Storage: refrigerated; keeps 3 to 6 days after opening.
Origin: foie gras from ducks raised outdoors on Les Canardises' farm; products processed at their cannery in Saint-Ferréol-les-Neiges, in the Capitale-Nationale region.
