Tasting box - Fruitcakes

Three small 100 g fruitcakes to sample Toque et tablier's recipes: Le Mémorable, L'Audacieux and Le Distingué. Filled with dried fruit and nuts, they are aged for 30 days, each with its own alcohol.

Toque et tablier, a Montréal family business, makes its fruitcakes entirely by hand in its Saint-Léonard workshop, with top-quality ingredients. The small family makes more than 50,000 cakes there every year. A box for a small tasting, or to give as a gift.

Format: 3 cakes, 100 g each.

What's inside:

• Le Mémorable: fruit, nuts and maple syrup, aged with whisky.
• L'Audacieux: fruit, mixed nuts and dark chocolate, aged with dark beer.
• Le Distingué: the house classic, aged with rum.

Ingredients, Le Mémorable: raisins (sulphur dioxide), dried dates, liquid whole eggs, maple syrup, wheat flour, walnuts, butter (milk), brown sugar, dried figs, pecans, apricot jelly, natural flavour, spices, whisky.

Ingredients, L'Audacieux: raisins, dried cranberries (sugar and sunflower oil), liquid whole eggs, dark chocolate (unsweetened chocolate, sugar, dextrose, soy lecithin, natural flavour), dried dates, wheat flour, maple syrup, butter (milk), dried figs, dark beer, brown sugar, walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts, apricot jelly, vanilla, spices, alcohol.

Ingredients, Le Distingué: raisins, dried cranberries (sugar and sunflower oil), liquid whole eggs, wheat flour, maple syrup, butter (milk), dried dates, dried figs, glacé pineapple / glacé cherries / lemon and orange peel (glucose, corn syrup, citric acid, sodium benzoate, artificial colours and flavours), sugar, almonds, pecans, hazelnuts, orange juice, apricot jelly, vanilla, spices, rum.

Serving suggestion: slice the cakes and enjoy them as is, as an appetizer or for dessert, with a coffee or a digestif.

Storage: in a cool, dry place.
