Brin Brun: at the heart of business

Brin Brun was founded by Julie Maron and Julie Rachel Baril with the idea of making creative activities easier to take on. In its early days, the company notably offered craft kits that brought together the materials and instructions needed for different projects.

A meeting in the fashion industry

Designers by trade, the two founders met at a job where they shared an interest in creating and a common concern for sustainability. They wanted to develop a project that would invite people to spend time on a hands-on activity rather than simply accumulating new things.

Making creative projects more accessible

The starting point was simple: someone may want to try a technique without knowing which materials to buy or how to begin. Brin Brun kits therefore aimed to bring together the essential elements of a project and guide the user with instructions or tutorials.

Moving quickly from idea to workshop

The co-founders first gave themselves a three-month trial period to test their idea. A few months later, they were setting up a workshop, a step they described as the first concrete sign of their business.

Organization, partnerships and sharing knowledge

Julie Rachel was particularly interested in developing partnerships with businesses that share the same values, while Julie focused more on product design and creating the tutorials. Both stressed the importance of setting clear goals and keeping a balanced workload.
