5 local and original gift ideas for Easter

Des cadeaux originaux et locaux pour Pâques

Easter is a holiday I particularly love, since it means spring, sunshine and renewal. It is also the day of the year when chocolate takes centre stage. And between you and me, who doesn't like receiving a sweet little treat, whatever the occasion? Still, there are many alternatives to chocolate when it's time to shop for an Easter present. Here is my shopping list for this year. So many great, original ideas for products made in Quebec! Because this way I kill two birds with one stone: I spoil the people I love while supporting local businesses!

For the little ones

SOFS

The Easter long weekend is the perfect time to spend with family. If it rains, it's a chance to develop our little ones' creativity with Sofs build-your-own kits. Easy to make, all the pieces are already printed for you. All you have to do is cut, fold and assemble them! Enough to turn a cloudy afternoon into a memorable moment.

PAPOUM PAPOUM

Almost all kids love chocolate hens and bunnies, that's a fact! But almost all kids also adore bunnies and hens in general, real or not. This year, to vary the egg hunt, why not hide a plush companion from the Quebec company Papoum Papoum among the classic treats! Carefully handmade, these irresistible, adorable characters will never be confused with mass-produced products.

For the family brunch

CIDRERIE DU MINOT

Easter brunch means crêpes, jam, pastries and... mimosas, the drink made with sparkling wine and orange juice. For an alcohol-free option that still adds some "oomph" to breakfast, try the sparkling apple drink from Cidrerie du Minot. This sparkling cider, with fine and elegant bubbles, is made from Quebec McIntosh apples. With its fresh apple notes, slight tartness and enveloping touch of honey, it's sure to please! To give or to keep for yourself.

For your loved one

LA CHOCOLATERIE DU VIEUX-BELOEIL

Because chocolate remains a classic everyone loves, and my partner couldn't do without dark chocolate, I'll be giving him chocolate from Chocolaterie du Vieux-Beloeil for Easter. They offer a variety of French and Belgian chocolates in a multitude of flavours: chocolate-coffee, chocolate-banana, chocolate-fleur de sel, chocolate-raspberry, and even a puffed rice chocolate bar!

For the sweet tooth

CARAMELS F.A.A

I have a friend who can't help ordering dessert at the end of every restaurant meal. Without fail! She simply has to finish with something sweet. For this friend, I'll be giving a product from Caramels F.A.A. This company specializes in caramels in the most original flavours. Besides caramels, they also have a small range of related products, including their excellent caramel and fleur de sel popcorn!

However you celebrate, happy Easter!
